Sigourney Weaver receives this year's Golden Lion for her lifetime achievement in filmmaking at the Venice Film Festival. "A star who has built bridges between the most sophisticated arthouse films and films that engage the general public in a sincere and original way, while remaining true to herself", says festival director Alberto Barbera in a statement.
