Proposal: Easier to Fell Mountain Forests

The Forestry Board Withdraws Notice of Termination
The Forestry Board is withdrawing its notice of termination for 97 employees, which was issued in July. An extra allocation in the government's budget is saving the jobs, reports Sveriges Radio P4 Jönköping.
Felling of Forests Appears to be Decreasing
The felling of forests this year is estimated to be 2 percent lower than last year, according to the Swedish Forest Agency in a press release. Total, the Swedish Forest Agency estimates in its new forecast a felling of approximately 88 million cubic meters of forest, a decrease of 2 million compared to 2023 and 7 million compared to 2022.
