Rising raw material costs, including aluminum, could force companies like Ford and General Motors to raise prices.

The warning comes after the three giants General Motors, Ford and Stellantis, which includes Jeep, released new quarterly figures.

All three have now warned of around $5 billion in increased costs as a consequence of the Iran war, writes the Financial Times.

Above all, it concerns the price of aluminum, which has risen by about 16 percent since the outbreak of the Iran war. Consulting firm AlixPartners has calculated that this could mean a price increase per car of between $500 and $1,500.
