The increase is evident in the survey "Young women and tech" conducted since 2015 by Insight Intelligence in collaboration with the IT supplier Tietoevry, Amazon, and Bredband2.
41 percent of the respondents in this year's survey state that they are attracted to working in the sector, an increase of 7 percentage points since last year. The AI initiatives make several of the respondents view this as a future industry.
"Unlike previous years, we can now see that the target group has a more positive view of the industry. Nine out of ten see it as a future profession, and the proportion who think that the IT/tech industry is actively working with diversity has increased by nine percentage points since last year," says Lukas Berg, CEO of Insight Intelligence in a press release.
At the same time, however, only six percent of women work with IT/tech, unchanged since 2015.
The survey is based on responses from 1,000 women between 16 and 30 years old.
