Ukraine has increased the intensity of its attacks inside Russia in recent months. Primarily, they have been directed against energy facilities, but last night's attack aimed to create logistical problems for the Russian military instead.
"The arsenal stored ammunition for rocket and artillery systems, including those delivered from North Korea, as well as glide bombs. Much of the ammunition was stored completely openly," says the Ukrainian military in a statement.
According to the Russian state-controlled news agency Tass, a state of emergency has been declared in the Karatjevskij district in the Brjansk region after explosions.
Challenging Winter
Russia has persistently attacked Ukraine's energy infrastructure, and the country may face its most challenging winter since the full-scale war against Russia broke out, according to NATO's newly appointed Secretary-General Mark Rutte.
Russia continues its massive attacks on critical energy infrastructure in Ukraine, said Rutte during a press conference with Finnish President Alexander Stubb on Tuesday, according to The Kyiv Independent.
Most Destroyed
Ukraine has warned that Moscow plans to attack Ukraine's nuclear power plants ahead of the winter months. Russia has already destroyed most of Ukraine's thermal and hydroelectric power plants, according to President Volodymyr Zelensky.
The more military support we provide, the faster the war will end, said Rutte.
On Wednesday, Ukraine reports that several people were injured in a Russian attack on the Odessa region.
Russia claims to have shot down nearly 50 Ukrainian drones during the night, almost half of them over the border region of Brjansk.
