At a press conference, the Minister of Finance states that the global economic uncertainty is great. One of the major concerns is that the incoming President of the USA, Donald Trump, is threatening to introduce trade tariffs.
I think it's outrageous, says Minister of Finance Elisabeth Svantesson (M).
But I'm not most worried about what trade tariffs Trump can introduce, but that Europe isn't doing its homework.
The risk is that Europe will fall behind the USA and Asia economically.
And right now, it looks shaky, especially for the two heavyweights Germany and France. The German economy is stuttering and the country is facing new elections.
And in France, the government has just been forced to resign due to disputes over the budget. The country has more than 6 percent of GDP in budget deficits.
It's enormous, and they also have a large national debt, says Svantesson.
