Thousands of Norwegians are without power, trees have fallen and a large crane was torn loose in Larvik in the wake of the storm Lilian.
The storm hit the coast along large parts of the Oslofjord on Friday. The police have warned motorists about falling trees and power lines on the roads.
In Larvik, the wind swept away a large container crane, which threatened to topple onto a car ferry. The ferry was quickly evacuated, both people and cars, and a departure has been cancelled. Shortly after 6 pm, the crane had been secured.
Several boats have broken loose and are drifting in Vestfold, according to the rescue service.
The powerful aftereffects of Lilian, which have now hit Norway, come all the way from the UK. The wind is expected to die down towards the evening.
