1. Adventsljusstake

Maybe the most popular Swedish Christmas decoration is the advent candlestick. This Christmas decoration brings light to the dark Swedish winters, and is put up in windows all over Sweden.

2. Straw decorations

Many traditional straw decorations are still used for Christmas, where straw is shaped into stars, hearts and other decorations and tied together with red ribbons.

Maybe the most popular shape is the straw buck, which comes in all sizes. The world’s largest straw buck is put up every year in the city of Gävle, where it measures over 13 meters tall.

3. Decorated Oranges

A DIY-friendly Swedish Christmas decoration is oranges decorated with cloves and hung in the window with a red ribbon. This is a classic Swedish decoration that adds a lovely Chirstmasy scent to your home.
