The UK's Crown Prince William has gone through a trying year in the wake of both his father, King Charles, and his wife Kate, the Princess of Wales, being struck by cancer.
It has been terrifying. It has probably been the toughest year of my life. So, trying to get through everything else and keep everything on track has been very difficult, he says to a press gathering at the end of his visit to South Africa, reports BBC.
In February, Buckingham Palace announced the King's cancer diagnosis and that he would undergo treatment for it. Only a few weeks later came the news that Princess Kate was undergoing chemotherapy treatment following a cancer diagnosis.
Since then, the King has returned to his public duties and the Princess has completed her treatment.
I am so proud of my wife, I am proud of my father, for the way they handled the situation, says Prince William.
