Six people have died in an outbreak of Marburg hemorrhagic fever in Rwanda, the country's health department reports.
Around 20 patients have been treated for the disease.
The infected and deceased were mainly healthcare personnel, says the country's health minister Sabin Nsanzimana to local media.
He adds that efforts are underway to track and test people who have been in contact with them.
Marburg resembles Ebola and has a mortality rate of up to 88 percent. The disease progression is rapid and sudden, with high fever, severe headache, and nausea. In a later stage, the infected may start bleeding in the skin and internal organs.
Approved remedies or vaccines are lacking.
