"The shooting has been characterized by complete indifference to other people's lives. It's pure luck that more people weren't injured or killed", says Court of Appeal Judge Carina Sjögren in a comment.

The accomplice, who drove the getaway car after the shooting, will also be deported for life, the Court of Appeal rules.

Two other young men convicted of aiding and abetting the shooting receive 15 years and 10 months in prison.

The Svea Court of Appeal also increases the compensation for damages beyond normal amounts to the plaintiffs, since "the shooting was intended to cause particularly serious fear for life and health among the plaintiffs".

The shooting occurred shortly after 6 pm on Saturday, June 10, 2023, when many people were moving around the area.

The shooter arrived in a car, got out, and aimed a Kalashnikov at the entrance to the subway in Farsta. Then he emptied the 21 shots in the magazine directly at a group of people.

A 15-year-old boy and a 43-year-old man who were hit by the shots died.

The investigation has not been able to establish with certainty who the target was, but according to the prosecutor, it was the Foxtrot network that ordered the deed as part of a conflict with the Dalen network.
