A teenage girl in Lidköping has been bitten in the face by a dog. The girl, who was born in 2011, was taken to hospital by ambulance, reports Nya Lidköpings-Tidningen.

As I understand it, it was a bite and nothing more. I do not know the breed, but it was supposed to be a medium-sized dog, says Ulrika Karlsson, station commander at the police, to the newspaper.

The injured girl was bitten in the lip, according to the police.

A girl born in 2008 is suspected of neglecting to supervise the animal and for causing bodily harm.

The incident occurred indoors on Sunday afternoon.
