"According to intelligence reports, Russia will use the first North Korean military in combat zones on October 27-28", says Zelensky on social media.

Russia's President Vladimir Putin has previously not denied the information that North Korean soldiers are in Russia.

What we do is our business, he said at a press conference on Thursday.

The USA, South Korea, and NATO have all confirmed that North Korean soldiers have been deployed to Russia. Around 3,000 soldiers have or are about to arrive, according to information from intelligence services.

Ukraine's intelligence service has previously stated that 12,000 North Korean soldiers are in Russia.

The information that North Korean soldiers are in Russia ahead of a possible deployment to fight in Ukraine is worrying Japan.

The latest development in the military cooperation between Russia and North Korea not only invites further deterioration of the situation in Ukraine, but is also very worrying from the perspective of its impact on security in the region surrounding Japan, says the government's spokesperson Yoshimasa Hayashi.

Russia's invasion of Ukraine is a scandalous act that shakes the very foundations of the international order.
