After a protracted battle in Congress over the future of deportations and border controls, the House of Representatives on Tuesday approved a huge package equivalent to approximately SEK 664 billion, which in effect secures funding for, among other things, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and the U.S. Border Patrol through 2029.

This means that only President Donald Trump's signature is missing.

ICE's budget has been on hold since the spring, following high-profile shootings in Minneapolis, and Democrats have conditioned budget support on changes to ICE's tactics. However, Republicans managed to get the budget package through the Senate last week.
