"When unscrupulous actors circumvent the law, it is children’s safety that is at stake. We are now stepping up our efforts to expose fake family homes and stop activities that do not have the right to be carried out," said Minister for Social Services Camilla Waltersson Grönvall (M) in a press release.
The police, the Swedish Economic Crime Authority, the Swedish Tax Agency and the Swedish Social Insurance Agency are collaborating on the mission. They are to be able to exchange information and prevent children being placed in fake foster homes.
The assignment must be completed by April 2028.
