The Swedish gaming company Embracer is soaring on the Stockholm Stock Exchange following speculation that media giant Amazon will make a bid for the company. In the final trade, the share is up nearly 7 percent, making it the second-best performer of the day on the Stockholm Stock Exchange.
The rumors emerged after an interview in the trade magazine Variety, where the head of Amazon's TV and film production department was asked about an acquisition. In the interview, however, no clearer answer was given than that "one always discusses such possibilities", which has nonetheless caused the share to rise sharply.
Incidentally, Embracer and Amazon have had a collaboration around the Tomb Raider brand since earlier.
