Dousa Criticizes Green Party Amid Calls for Resignation Over Unrwa Handling

Minister for Development Cooperation Benjamin Dousa (The Moderate Party) hits back at the Green party's demands for him to resign due to the government's handling of the UN agency Unrwa. ”I work day and night to ensure that more families in Gaza can benefit from Swedish support”, says Dousa in a written comment.

The Green party's resignation demand comes after Dousa's participation in SVT, where it was revealed that Sida in the spring wanted to send 30 million kronor in humanitarian aid to Gaza via Unrwa, as well as that state secretary Diana Janse tried to influence how Sida handled the matter.

Dousa says in his response that "it is obvious that the Green party does not care about the issue but only about party political plays," and that he had "taken offense" if the MP had not wanted to replace him.

"The Green party, a party that is mostly composed of empty-headed and foolish people, should focus more on how we together can get more EU countries on board with sanctions against extreme Israeli ministers. That's how we can put pressure on Israel right now," writes Dousa.

"What we do not need now are politicians who try to use the conflict in the Middle East to whip up conflicts between groups in Sweden. That is irresponsible," he writes further.

The Left Party has reported Benjamin Dousa to the Disciplinary Committee.
