Dead spiny dogfish have once again been found dumped in Lysekil's harbor, according to TV4's Cold Facts. The sharks were found at the same location where a large number of dying and dead sharks were found in 2022.
It was when Cold Facts conducted new dives in the harbor that around ten dead sharks were discovered.
For animals to die in this way is a great waste of resources and animal cruelty as well, says Helen Sköld, aquarium manager at Havets Hus in Lysekil, to Cold Facts.
In the spring of 2022, nearly 100 spiny dogfish and a number of rays were found in the harbor. A professional fisherman was suspected of the dumping, but the preliminary investigation was later dropped due to lack of evidence.
