False films with former state epidemiologist Anders Tegnell are spreading on social media. Now, the Public Health Agency (FHM) chooses to report the films to the police – and warn against the products they market.

The fake material is said to be spreading on Facebook, and contains both the Public Health Agency's logo and an AI-generated Anders Tegnell. The films, according to the authority, advertise various preparations for diabetes and asthma.

"It feels terribly sad that my and the authority's name are being exploited in this way, and that scammers are trying to profit from vulnerable people who want help with their health problems," says Anders Tegnell in a press release from the Public Health Agency.

The authority has turned to Meta, which owns Facebook, with a request to remove the films.
