The British government held several crisis meetings in October 2022, according to a book about the former Prime Minister Liz Truss's time in power.
The reason: Truss feared that Vladimir Putin was ready to release nuclear weapons over Ukraine – and that the wind would bring the radioactive fallout to Britain, writes The Telegraph.
According to journalists Harry Coles and James Heales' book "Out of the blue", Truss spent her last days on Downing Street studying weather maps and wind directions and preparing for the potential attack.
Truss resigned as Prime Minister in October 2022 after a record-short 44 days in office.
