”The industry's internal order statistics show a certain brightening which can be linked to the hope of a better economic situation and lower interest rates. This together with the current increase means that Mobility Sweden is adjusting the forecast for 2025, from 275,000 to 280,000 newly registered passenger cars”, the organization writes in a press release.
However, it is not a question of a radical turnaround. Last year was weaker than the forecast for 2025. But if you disregard that, the number of registrations in the revised forecast for this year is the lowest number in twelve years, according to Bil Sweden.
Volvo XC60 is the winning model in September, with 2,087 new registrations, an increase of 82 percent in yearly terms.
For Elon Musk's Tesla, the headwind continues. For Model Y, the number of registrations plummeted 66 percent to 1,387 in September. The decline so far this year is just as large in percentage terms, down to 4,678 registrations.
For Tesla Model 3, the decline in September was 48 percent to 333 registrations, while only 6 examples of Model X were registered and no Model S at all.
