According to the trade union Teamsters, the strike has been voted for by the workers since Amazon ignored the deadline set by the union on Sunday for the negotiations.
Amazon is driving its workers closer to the strike line by not showing them the respect they deserve, says Teamsters' union president Sean O'Brien in a statement.
The union calls the strike the largest action against the company so far, but Amazon claims that the action will not affect the operations.
The trade union Teamsters says it represents around 10,000 workers at ten Amazon facilities, which is a small part of the 800,000 workers employed in the company's American warehouses.
The union has not announced how many workers will participate in the strike or how long it will last.
