Åkesson has long been clear that the party should be part of the government or be in opposition after the election next year.
The Liberals have however opposed the requirement that SD should be part of the government. If SD is shut out, Åkesson unhesitatingly accepts the consequence that S-leader Magdalena Andersson becomes prime minister, he says to Expressen. He is also prepared for an extra election if the prime minister vote fails four times.
It is not us who should back down in that matter once again. The small parties must accept that.
The Liberals' party board decided two weeks ago to say no to a government where SD is included. On the other hand, they advocated for continued Tidö cooperation.
During The Moderate Party's ongoing convention in Västerås, Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson invited the Tidö leaders to his home in Strängnäs for a meeting before Christmas. He has no plans to resolve the conflict between the parties in Strängnäs, but the purpose is to agree on a common "approximate direction" for the next term of office.
