Twelve men and two women lost their driver's licenses when Norwegian police set up checkpoints on the E6 highway at Lillestrøm outside Oslo in connection with a car meet, reports Norwegian media.
The highest speed measured was 234 kilometers per hour, and in that case, the car was also seized. Several of the drivers can also expect prison sentences, according to Norwegian police.
The police told VG that they were aware that a car meet with fast cars would take place and therefore set up checkpoints.
The phenomenon is known from Sweden, but relatively new in Norway, said police chief Knut Smedsrud to the newspaper in November.
