Nordic Watercolour Museum is on the island of Tjörn, just north of Gothenburg. It opened in 2000. Its current exhibition, running from 27 September 2026 to 11 April 2027, focuses on Britta Marakatt-Labba’s works on paper.

Marakatt-Labba is internationally known for her embroidery. The exhibition presents her drawings and watercolours, which have been little known, for the first time. It includes around 140 works, mainly watercolours, drawings and sketches, alongside selected embroidery and graphic art.

The museum presents art based on water, pigment and paper. Visit Sweden lists past exhibitions of work by Salvador Dali, Bill Viola, Louise Bourgeois, Elsa Beskow, Anders Zorn and Lars Lerin. Vatten Restaurang & Kafé is in the same building. Visit Sweden says it serves food and drinks throughout the year, with food inspired by the sea and prepared in a modern Nordic style. Studios across the water can be rented for one night or a longer stay.
