Stockholm Cathedral, or Storkyrkan, was built in 1279 and has been a Lutheran church since 1527. Visit Stockholm lists three works in the cathedral: the 1489 sculpture of St George and the Dragon, the 1535 painting Vädersoltavlan and Lena Lervik’s 2002 sculpture Joseph and Mary. The cathedral’s own website offers information about guided tours and an audio guide, but does not give their schedules in the material available here.
Today, Sunday 1 November, is the final day named in the cathedral’s All Saints weekend notice. It says entry is free on Saturday 31 October and Sunday 1 November, and that visitors can light candles, with deacons and priests available. The website lists Holy Communion in English every Sunday except the first of the month, at 6pm, so the service is not listed for today.
The cathedral holds religious services and concerts. Its website lists a fall and winter 2026 music programme for Storkyrkan and St Jacobs Church. The material gives no visit duration or general opening hours, so check the cathedral’s website before planning a visit outside the free-entry dates.

6 Dec to 13 Dec · Stockholm Cathedral
In the glow of the Lucia crown and the candles, some of Stockholm's best children's and youth choirs, including Storkyrkans Kammarkör and St. Jacob's Vocal Ensemble, sing the beloved songs that belong to the special Swedish tradition of Lucia and Staffan celebrations. The Lucia procession makes its entrance and the light illuminates the deepest darkness.
