Royal Walks is a free app for self-guided walks in Stockholm’s royal parks, not a balloon ride. The Royal Palaces site describes routes in the National City Park, including a walk from Djurgården Bridge along the waterfront to Rosendal, the royal summer palace, and walks at Haga and Ulriksdal. Visit Stockholm also lists Drottningholm and Tullgarn among the parks covered, alongside Djurgården, Haga and Ulriksdal.
Choose a complete walk by theme or category, or create a route to suit your interests. Categories include gardens and nature, buildings and constructions, and sculptures. The text is in Swedish and English, with historical and more recent images. The app is free to download from the App Store and Google Play.
Children and young visitors can try discovery-walk quizzes at Drottningholm and Ulriksdal. Each quiz asks questions about selected stops, with easy and challenging versions that can be solved at home. In the parks, the quizzes offer tasks designed to encourage participants to explore with their senses and play with friends and family. The separate Visit Stockholm listing for Ballongflygning describes balloon tours, which are weather-dependent and may not take off.
