Dansmuseet has moved to Hagalund, where its temporary meeting place and office are based while it waits for a new museum, expected to open around 2029. Founded in Stockholm by Rolf de Maré in 1953, the museum focuses on dance, theatre, art and costume.

Its collections include masks, costume sketches and stage models from different parts of the world, as well as costumes, masks and visual art connected with dance and theatre. The museum presents exhibitions at different locations and lends objects to temporary exhibitions around the world.

Dansmuseet Lab is being set up in Hagalund as a public meeting place for workshops and public laboratories, where the museum plans to test ideas, programmes and collaborations. The museum describes its future home as a place for children and families, people interested in dance and art, and others, with dance and movement at its centre. Its calendar lists programmes at venues including Solna library, the Historical Museum and Dansmuseet Lab. The listed dates do not include a year, so they do not establish which events are currently taking place.
