Kiralina Salandy leads a trio through jazz, gospel and blues, with Andreas Hellkvist on Hammond organ and Jesper Kviberg on drums. Norrtälje JazzClub presents the concert at Kapellet in Norrtälje. The event description says the music shifts between fragile, beautiful passages and moments that build to a full boil. Salandy’s dynamic voice and outgoing way of leading the ensemble give her room to involve the audience. The organ and drums provide a playful, swinging backing. The trio is partly a return to Salandy’s musical roots from growing up in Canada. Hellkvist has appeared with Trinity and Arnesen Bluesband; Kviberg has worked with Stacey Kent, Monica Borrfors, Bernt Rosengren Octet and Stockholm Jazz Trio.
