The five-week chair-yoga course at Hälsans Hus in Norrtälje begins this Thursday, with weekly sessions through early December. Movements can be done seated or standing with a chair for support, and focus on mobility in the neck, shoulders, spine and chest, alongside breathing, awareness and rest.
The sessions also include body-based exercises for nervous-system regulation, gentle movements intended to support the lymphatic system, and simple self-massage. The format is for people who feel stiff, want extra support, find floor-based yoga difficult, or spend much of the day sitting. No previous yoga experience is needed, and the course is not aimed at a particular age group. It is limited to eight participants and will run only if at least five people sign up.
