Siggebohyttans bergsmansgård is a museum near Nora, in Bergslagen. Its main building is a timber house with 14 rooms and three kitchens, built from around 1790. The farm also has a smithy, barn, stable and a storehouse with a gallery. The former servants’ cottage is now a café and small shop selling gifts, handicrafts and books.
A visit takes you into the household of a prosperous ironmaster’s family in the 1860s. The site offers guided visits to the main house and a mine, and a virtual 360-degree tour lets you look around the rooms and read about objects and the Andersson family. A film covers the family home, nearby forest and old mines. A walking trail in the area follows traces of ironworking.
The regular season is May to September, when school and group visits are available by booking. At other times, the site opens for events; check its calendar for details. The information available here does not give an admission price or a visit length. There is a ramp at the café, barn and toilet, but not at the main house, and indoor access is limited. There is no accessible toilet or designated accessible parking, though cars can drive up to the café. Information leaflets are available in Swedish and English.
