Göthlinska Gården is a preserved bourgeois family home in Nora, kept as it was when Ingrid Göthlin donated it to the town. The house gives visitors a look at how a middle-class family might have lived around the turn of the 20th century. Its collections include furniture, photographs, art, toys and ornaments dating from the 17th century onwards, as well as examples of Ingrid’s porcelain painting. The Göthlin family moved into the house in 1886; Ingrid died in 1961.

The garden is open to visitors and looks out over Lake Norasjön. A waffle café, Selma G., is in the lakeside cottage. The carriage shed has a small exhibition about Nora’s development and the area’s mining and iron production, but it is closed for the season. The site says guided tours have also ended for the season, and lists no current drop-in dates. Group bookings are available through Nora’s tourist office from May to September. When drop-in visits are offered, entry costs SEK 60 (about $5.60, or £4.40), payable in cash or by Swish. The entrance is from the veranda at the back of the property, at Kungsgatan 4.
