Sagomuseet i Ljungby is the museum at the heart of Sagobygden, a storytelling district in Småland. Visitors can explore legends and fairy tales about trolls, the neck and the forest nymph, on their own or with a storytelling guide. The museum connects oral storytelling with the area's cultural heritage: Sagobygden says stories were passed from person to person and are still told there.

Sagobygden stretches across Ljungby, Alvesta and Älmhult municipalities. Around 40 legendary sites are marked in the countryside with red story cabinets. A map or app can help you find them, so the museum can be part of a wider visit to the district. The venue says it runs a varied programme each year at the museum, around Sagobygden and with partner organisations.

In 2018, UNESCO added Sagobygden to its register of good practices for safeguarding intangible cultural heritage, for its work with storytelling. The museum's stories are presented for children and adults.
