Magasinsgatan runs from Lilla Torget towards Vasastan, down to Vallgraven, crossing streets including Kyrkogatan, Kungsgatan and Vallgatan. The shops include Swedish and local labels, Nordic design at Norrgavel, and homeware at Artilleriet. Grandpa sells clothing and lifestyle goods, while Floramor och Krukatös combines flowers, pots and homeware. For vintage and second-hand clothing, the city guide names Ragtime, Pop Boutique, Humana, Juno Juno and Aplace.
Da Matteo has two cafés on the street, set around a large courtyard. Food trucks include Jinx, which specialises in baos. Other stops include Berzelii Choklad for handmade chocolates and hot chocolate, and Beer N Fries for beer, fries and smashburgers. For dinner, The Barn serves burgers, Puta Madre serves Mexican food, and Tavolo is an Italian restaurant in the former artillery stables. Nearby, the guide lists cocktail bars, a champagne bar and Unity Jazz, a jazz club. In summer, many restaurants put tables outside.
From Gothenburg Central Station, it is a 15-minute walk. Domkyrkan is the nearest bus and tram stop, and Saluhallen and Kungstorget are within walking distance. The street was first called Arentsgatan, then took the name Magasinsgatan after a large grain warehouse was built in the area. The guide does not give prices or opening hours.
