Långbro Nature Reserve covers 154 hectares in Hudiksvall and Söderhamn municipalities. It lies about 10 kilometres southwest of Enånger and has been protected since 1997. The reserve is part of the Natura 2000 network.
The hilly terrain includes bare, partly wooded rocks and shingle ridges formed at the highest coastline. Pine dominates the rocky ground and higher slopes, where some trees are about 200 years old. Around the rocky areas, mixed deciduous forest with many aspens is about 90 years old. The aspen stands support lichens and mosses, including the rare lichen gryniga aspgelélaven. The reserve is also home to kortskaftad ärgspik, a lichen that grows on fallen trees.
A visit lets you look at these landforms and forest habitats. Special rules apply: do not damage the ground, geological features, vegetation or trees, whether standing or fallen. Do not deliberately disturb wildlife or harm or remove threatened or rare plants and animals. Motor vehicles are not allowed off-road, and camping, lighting fires and taking firewood are prohibited.
