UN Envoy Urges Israel to Halt Strikes in Southern Syria
At least 13 people have been killed and several have been injured in Israeli bombings in southern Syria over the past 24 hours, according to local authorities. The UN envoy in Syria condemns Israel's "military escalation" and says it risks "destabilizing Syria at a sensitive time".
Over 1,000 dead in Syria – reports of massacres
At least 745 civilians from the Alawite minority in Syria have been killed by security forces and allies over the past three days, according to the British-based Syrian Human Rights Observatory (SOHR). "This is one of the largest massacres in the Syrian conflict," says SOHR chief Rami Abdulrahman in a statement.
