A house, a well-stocked wallet and the option to charge at home - that’s what most Swedish electric car owners have, according to a new report. CarsTens of thousands of Swedes have applied for the electric car subsidy that was launched six months ago. But more than half have been turned down by the Swedish Environmental Protection Agency. It is very complicated and extremely difficult to get a clear overview of whether you qualify for the support, says Carl-Erik Stjernvall, technical expert at M Sverige.

CarsThe sharp tax cut on gasoline and diesel has now in many cases made it more expensive to drive on electricity. An electric car is so much more expensive to buy that it has to be cheaper to run on electricity for the purchase to be worthwhile, says Carl-Erik Stjernvall at M Sverige.
BusinessBeing able to pick up a brand new car from the dealer without paying a cash deposit or taking out a car loan is an attraction for many who choose to privately lease. But even if the arrangement is perceived as simple and worry-free, the leasing journey can be a real ditch drive.
BusinessThe electric car manufacturer Tesla has ended up on Råd & Rön's "black list" after refusing a customer a guarantee following damage to the car.
BusinessWorse competition and more expensive electric cars are likely to be the consequence of tariffs on China-made electric vehicles, according to several Swedish car organisations.
