China's leader Xi Jinping arrived on Tuesday in Kazakhstan's capital Astana for a state visit to the country. He will also participate in a meeting with the cooperation organization Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) held in Astana.

Xi to make a state visit to Central Asia

China's leader Xi Jinping will visit the former Soviet republics of Kazakhstan and Tajikistan during the coming week. "President Xi Jinping will participate in the 24th meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the SCO (Shanghai Cooperation Organization) to be held in Astana", and also make a state visit to Kazakhstan and Tajikistan, the Foreign Ministry announced.
