Moscow has strengthened military and economic ties with Tehran since Russia launched its full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
Pezeshkian said at the two-day meeting in Bishkek, according to a statement, that Russia has supported Iran both bilaterally and at the UN since the US started the war against Iran.
This shows that our relationship is strategic, and not just an ordinary one, said Pezeshkian.
In addition to the leaders from Iran and Russia, China's Xi Jinping, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, India's Narendra Modi and Pakistan's leader Shehbaz Sharif are participating in the meeting, which is part of the so-called Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO).
