collective agreement
An agreement between a trade union and an employer or employers' organisation that sets pay, working hours, overtime, holiday, pensions and insurance for a whole sector or workplace. Sweden has no general statutory minimum wage; much of what other countries put in law is settled in these agreements instead.
If your workplace is covered, the agreement applies to you whether or not you are a union member. Typical extras include an occupational pension paid by the employer and insurances on top of the state ones.
Ask your employer whether there is a collective agreement before you sign a contract. For work permit holders, Migrationsverket also compares your terms with what applies in the occupation.
