For parents who work evenings, nights, and weekends, childcare is offered on unconventional working hours. This applies to all industries where you may have unconventional working hours, such as working as a night guard, a restaurant worker on late shifts, or a cultural worker with evening jobs, etc. The service is aimed at children from one year old to the spring term of the year they turn 13 and applies outside of regular preschool and after-school hours.

When does the care apply?

Times that are considered unconventional working hours are: Weekdays from 6:30 pm to 6:30 am Weekends and public holidays. Childcare applies to children from one year old to the spring term of the year they turn 13.

Who can apply for childcare?

Care is granted if the need is regular and cannot be resolved in another way. This applies to:

  • Co-habiting parents who both work unconventional hours.
  • Parents with joint custody living at different addresses, if care cannot be resolved in another way.
  • Single parents who work unconventional hours.
  • Care is not provided to parents who work extra hours due to studies or other reasons.

How does the care work?

On weekdays, care is offered in the home until 12:00 am, provided that there are no older children or other adults living there. At other times, care takes place at the facility provided by the city.

You can find more information on your city's official website for childcare.
