The Russian citizen Andrej Medvedev, who is believed to have belonged to the Wagner group's paramilitary, has now been sentenced to 120 days in prison for violence against a woman and a bartender.

Medvedev has denied the crime and the verdict will be appealed, according to his lawyer.

The Vestfold district court, which convicted Medvedev, has emphasised that the violent acts against the woman were prolonged, lasting around an hour. Medvedev has also been convicted of threatening to kill her.

Medvedev came to Norway from Russia in January last year. He has applied for asylum in the country, but has been rejected.
