Despite a decline in overall sales, orders in Europe increased during the quarter, driven by strong demand for the company's electric cars, Volvo Cars writes in a press release.
“General market conditions remain tough, especially in China, but it is positive that fully electric cars are gaining traction in our largest market, Europe,” says Erik Severinson, chief commercial officer at Volvo Cars.
Fully electric models or plug-in hybrids made up 52 percent of all cars sold during the quarter.
