Vattenfall has initiated an evaluation of the ownership of district heating plants, writes the state-owned energy company in a press release.
"This means that Vattenfall will investigate future alternatives, including possible divestment, for its district heating business in Sweden, the UK, and the Netherlands as part of its ongoing portfolio evaluation", writes Vattenfall.
"This process also includes evaluating future ownership alternatives for Vattenfall's electricity distribution in the UK", adds the energy company.
As regards Sweden, Vattenfall Heat currently has operations in nine locations, providing heat and district cooling to 250,000 households.
