The Swedish team included Ella Halvarsson, Anna Magnusson, Elvira Öberg and Hanna Öberg.
The Swedes were both fast on the track and the best on the shooting range with seven extra shots in total and had the lead from start to finish. The margin to second place Norway was 40 seconds.
"It's great that we're all doing well today. It's a special feeling to lead from start to finish," Anna Magnusson tells SVT.
Elvira Öberg switched over to her sister Hanna on the final stretch with a margin of more than 50 seconds.
It's definitely nice to go out in the thick of it. You have a margin and don't have to do it perfectly, you can do your race. It was fun to drive with that starting position, to get to train in the sharpest of conditions, says Hanna Öberg.
“Gives self-confidence”
Ella Halvarsson won her stage and was awarded 1,000 euros. Hanna Öberg missed out on the stage win by just under three seconds. The seconds disappeared when she stopped on the run-up to receive a flag and then paraded across the finish line.
I took it easy the whole last lap, but now that I hear it was so little, I could have gone faster, she says with a laugh.
Öberg had to settle for the 7,500 euros that she and the others on the team each received for the victory.
Sweden's victory in such a superior manner strengthened the team ahead of the Olympics in February.
"It means a lot that we all get to show that we can handle this situation. It gives us confidence," says Anna Magnusson.
Had a clear plan
National team coach Johannes Lukas was of course very pleased.
"It was actually one of the best relays in a long time, they were completely superior from the start and had a clear plan not to be too cautious. All four did extremely well," he tells SVT.
In the World Cup premiere in Östersund, Sweden came fourth in the relay after Johanna Skottheim missed out on a podium finish on the first leg. Elvira Öberg was missing, as she was in a bad shape. France, who won in Östersund and were also favourites in Hochfilzen, finished sixth, 1.5 minutes behind Sweden.
Corrected: In a previous version, the wrong amount was stated for the stage win. The correct amount is 1,000 euros.
