The Stockholm stock exchange's downturn continued throughout Wednesday. At the close, the OMXS-index fell by 0.5 per cent with a mixed performance among the major companies.
Live casino operator Evolution topped the OMXS30 list with a 1.5 per cent increase, followed by telecom company Telia, which rose 0.8 per cent, and hygiene company Essity, which rose 0.6 per cent.
The biggest loser of the day was investment company Kinnevik, which fell heavily, with its share price down 6.0 per cent. Next was cloud service company Sinch, which fell 5.6 per cent, and appliance manufacturer Electrolux, which fell 4.2 per cent.
While the New York stock exchange was closed for the holiday, the leading European stock exchanges saw mixed results. The Paris and Frankfurt exchanges fell by around 0.7 per cent and 0.3 per cent, respectively, while London was up around 0.2 per cent.
The result can be seen in the light of, among other things, new inflation statistics from the UK, which show a continued decline in inflation – something that in theory opens up for further interest rate cuts.
