The OMXS30 index, which lists the most traded shares, was topped by truck manufacturer Volvo, which rose 6.1 percent. Measurement technology company Hexagon gained 4.4 percent and bearing giant SKF increased 3.7 percent.
At the bottom of the OMXS30 were found real estate company SBB and heat pump manufacturer Nibe, which fell 9.3 and 3.8 percent, respectively.
The stock exchanges in Frankfurt and Paris rose, while the London Stock Exchange fell marginally.
In Asia, the stock exchanges in Tokyo and China closed on a plus, while Hong Kong fell. The Chinese tech giant Tencent fell 7.3 percent after the US listed the company as military.
