Tesla requires that the power company Gävle Energi Elnät should speed up connections of charging stations. The electric car giant has requested that the Energy Market Inspectorate (Ei) take the grid company to task, but is rejected by the authority.
"Trade union conflict takes precedence over connection obligation", writes Ei in its motivation.
Since October 2023, several Swedish trade unions have been on strike against Tesla because the American company refuses to sign collective agreements, which, among other things, stops the installation of the car company's charging poles.
According to the Electricity Act, grid companies should connect an installation within a reasonable time from when the application is received, unless there are special reasons, writes Ei. But the right to strike is constitutionally protected and therefore takes precedence.
