"The main drivers were the production ramp-up at the new factory in Rugao, China, and the government-supported loan program ‘Move Brasil’ in Brazil," Traton, Scania’s German owner, writes in a comment on Scania’s growth.
During the first nine months of the year, Scania’s sales volume increased by 1 percent compared with the same period last year.
Traton, the German holding company that also owns MAN, International and Volkswagen Truck & Bus, reported a 10 percent increase in delivery volumes to 78,900 vehicles.
The sales report comes ahead of Traton’s and Scania’s third-quarter interim reports, which are expected on Wednesday, October 28.
