The Speaker of the Riksdag, Andreas Norlén, began a new so-called speaker's round today with individual conversations with the party leaders.
The goal is to decide who will receive the mandate to form a government this time, after Social Democrats leader Magdalena Andersson gave up her first attempt on Monday.
She thinks that Moderate Party leader Ulf Kristersson should be given the mandate after the Left Party voted for the Moderate Party's candidate for Speaker of the Riksdag on Monday.
Kristersson, in turn, points out that S, MP, C and V have Andersson as their prime ministerial candidate and that the four parties have the most seats in the Riksdag. He therefore thinks that this constellation should be tried first.

Yesterday, he also said he was ready "if there are conditions for some kind of non-socialist government constellation."
But as long as C neither intends to change sides nor accept a red-green government collaboration with V, there is currently no solution in sight.
However, the Center Party's deputy party leader Rickard Nordin said on SVT last night that if V drops the demand for ministerial posts, the possibility of negotiating something else increases.
However, that is out of the question, according to V leader Nooshi Dadgostar.
Of course we should be in a government, otherwise these thirty seats cannot be counted, she says at a press conference on Wednesday.
She says she is prepared to put "all the proposals we went to the polls on the table" and negotiate about them.
Dadgostar does not rule out that Center Leader Elisabeth Thand Ringqvist will be assigned to investigate.
The Center Party claims that there are many other constellations with which they can form a government. It would be interesting to investigate so that we get answers to that, she says.
Åkesson first
First out in today's speaker's round was Ulf Kristersson, who participated by telephone. After that, SD leader Jimmie Åkesson entered the speaker's room in the Riksdag.
At a press conference after his meeting, Jimmie Åkesson repeats his message from the day before: that he wants to see a vote on the prime minister as soon as possible.
"I think it's reasonable to try Magdalena Andersson. There are four parties that have said throughout the election campaign, and still say, that they want to see Magdalena Andersson as prime minister. Then it's not unreasonable to try that option, and it should happen as soon as possible," he says.
Magdalena Andersson had her meeting with the Speaker already on Monday.
